Guess My Number Project
Guess My Number or Algebra Magic
Each student will be creating their own "trick." Your project will be graded on the following criteria:
1. Title on the page (10 points)
2. Word presentation of the steps (40 points)
(4 clear steps, steps cannot be just the inverse of the previous step)
3. Numeric example on the front to show your trick works (10 points)
4. Algebraic expression on the back. Must be written with a variable. (10 points)
5. Layout and design (10 points)
6. Creativity (10 points)
7. Turned in by Thursday, October 27th. (10 points)
Each student can choose whether they want to end up with the same number they started with, try a more challenging problem of creating one that always ends with the same number, or something totally on their own. The trick just must work every time. Have fun!

Who is Pemdas Orelse?
In class, we are working on order of operations. We started out "first" mystery using these skills. The students need to have at least the first three scenes solved before Thursday's class. If you login to your google classroom, you will find all the clues.

August 9th
I am still in Louisiana with one of my son's baseball teams.
Enterprise has made it to the final four teams. Please know I have been in constant contact with my substitute so that the students can continue to move forward. I will be back on Thursday. The students have been working with adding and subtracting integers (positive and negative numbers). They have also been working with absolute value. I will include a picture of what their math notebooks should look like, but please know the pages may be slightly different at this point. Also, here is a link for some practice.

Puzzle Winners
The students worked on puzzles the first day to realize how important each person's role is in cooperative work. These groups each had their members with a task and came out ahead in the end.
